What type of messages will I receive in my customer communications area?
At the moment you will only receive messages from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) relating to applications to register for VAT, requests to change VAT registration details or Notifications of Vehicle Arrivals.
For most people this will include confirmation of whether your request to register for VAT has been accepted or rejected. But sometimes HMRC may need to send this confirmation by post, for example if you apply to join the VAT Flat Rate Scheme when you submit your VAT registration application.
HMRC will also contact you by post if further information is needed about your VAT registration application after it has been submitted.
