What details do I need to sign up for the CIS Online service?
First you must be registered for CIS at your tax office. To sign up for the CIS Online service you'll need your:

PAYE scheme reference - You can find this on the yellow PAYE paying-in booklet supplied by HM Revenue and Customs. The first part of the reference number is 3 digits, which is your HMRC office number dealing with your CIS returns, eg example 931. The second part of the reference comes after the forward slash and is your tax office reference, eg A1234
- Accounts Office reference - You can also find this on the yellow PAYE paying-in booklet. This reference is in the format of nnnaannnnnnnn (where 'n' refers to numeric and 'a' to alphabetic characters) eg 931PQ00123456.
