Payments on account 03 - Why are you making the claim?
Do not include questions in this box as HMRC cannot answer specific questions from your tax return.
Enter the reason why you're reducing your Payments on Account.
The main reasons why you may want to reduce your Payments on Account for 2021 to 2022 are if:
- you expect your 2021 to 2022 income to be lower than 2020 to 2021
- you expect your allowances or reliefs to be higher
- more of your 2021 to 2022 income will be taxed at source, because it will be taxed under PAYE
- it will be covered by subcontractor deductions, on CIS25s
- because more of your income will come from savings, such as taxed interest or company dividends
