This is the Password you selected when you first signed up for an Online Government Account (also known as a Government Gateway Account).

The letters in your password are not case sensitive.

If you incorrectly enter your User ID or Password 3 times or more, you will be locked out of your HMRC Online Services account for 2 hours. After that time you will be able to try again to sign in using the correct User ID and Password.
