A closed-die forged steel towball is used in conjunction with and in the manufacture of a towing vehicle's towbar. A towbar is a towing vehicle's hitch point, mounted at the rear of the towing vehicle, that allows a towed trailer or caravan to be attached to the towing vehicle in conjunction with the towed trailer or caravan's coupling head. This coupling head locks onto the towing vehicle's towball, allowing the towed and towing vehicles to become a single articulated unit. Main applications for towballs include towbars of a passenger car and light commercial van.
