A Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) which is housed in a 1/2 - ATR short rack mounting which is coloured international orange. The unit records the sound within a cockpit on an aircraft. It is solely a cockpit voice recorder and not flight data recorder. The flight recorder is a Solid State Cockpit Voice Recorder utilizing modular crash survivable memory unit (CSMU) for protection of the solid state voice recording memory. The CSMU retains most recent 30 or 120 minutes of audio, digital, and timing information. Models available with Underwater Locator Beacon. Weight 16lbs (max.)
